How to take comparable progress photographs

Control angle, distance, expression and lighting so weekly images support honest implementation review.

01

Use the same three views

Capture front neutral, left three-quarter and right three-quarter. Keep the camera at eye level and use the same lens when possible.

02

Match distance and framing

Use the previous-photo ghost overlay and align face size and center position. A closer camera changes visible proportions even when the person has not changed.

03

Treat lighting as evidence quality

Face the same diffuse light source. Large brightness, shadow or color-temperature differences limit any visible comparison and should be disclosed.

04

Measure implementation, not attractiveness

A weekly report can describe completed actions, routine consistency and whether a chosen styling direction was implemented. It should never produce a beauty percentage.
